Learners Chess Academy is participating in a couple local community events to provide chess equipment and volunteer chess coaches for some community chess playing! We currently have 3 separate dates at 3 different parks planned for June, but we hope to have some in July as well, which I'll post here. Our first one is coming up on Thursday June 10th at Altura park! These are family friendly events, and players of any age or skill level can rent a board and play. This is not an exclusively LCA event, and we encourage other chess clubs to come as well!
Join Learners Chess Academy and other chess players, coaches, and volunteers for an afternoon of Chess in the Parks! We will have chess equipment, clocks, and fun chess variant sets for lending out and we'll have volunteer chess coaches on hand to teach and discuss the wonderful game of chess! Occasionally, we or other local chess groups will organize mini tournaments or other types of chess events.
Covid Safety: Please plan to wear masks and practice all covid safe precautions.
Food: Usually food trucks will be at the parks as well so you can have dinner.
All are welcome! This event is free!
