-
2025-1 – Reduce NMCO voting age membership to 16 on day of annual meeting
-
This change brings NMCO in step with USCF’s current voting age policy. It doesn’t make sense that 16 and up players can vote nationally, but not at our state meetings. May require an additional clarification to age for serving on the NMCO Board of Directors as 18 years old, due to legal requirements in New Mexico.
-
-
2025-2 – Allow TDs as voting members, if they Chief TD a NMCO event
-
We want to encourage TDs as a viable strategy for supporting NMCO without requiring them to be players. TDs who we rely on for Chief duties should be treated the same as players for voting.
-
-
2025-3 – Allowing a parent to be a voting member on behalf of a scholastic player
-
This is to allow our scholastic parents to participate in our governance. Scholastic players make up the largest population, but their voices are not heard in voting. This will allow “limited” voting rights to parents on behalf of their family.
-
-
2025-4 – Term duration of 2 years for elected board members
-
Finding people to serve on the board was previously a challenge for NMCO. Now, we are growing and have dedicated volunteers. It’s difficult to plan for the long term when members must be reelected every year. We will stagger elected member elections to allow challengers every year, but the positions will alternate. It is expected that non-profit organizations do NOT have high turnover regularly in governance. This will support the organization and mission for long-term projects. This change does NOT apply to appointed members who will still be appointed annually and as needed.
-
-
2025-5 – Proofreading changes in constitution
-
There are a few grammatical errors and confusing word choices. This cleans up some of the legal language, without changing any underlying policies or content.
-
- Open floor for voting member motions and discussion
- Open floor for non-voting member questions
- Election of new officers (candidates who have announced their intention to run are listed below)
